Operations Manager

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to oversee our F&V (Fruits and Vegetables) warehouse operations in Chennai. The ideal candidate will ensure seamless operations, effective logistics planning, and efficient production processes, while maintaining strict inventory control and minimizing wastage. Expertise in fresh produce handling and management is essential to ensure optimal quality and minimal spoilage.

Key Responsibilities:

Warehouse Operations:

• Oversee daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring processes run smoothly.
• Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance productivity and safety.

Logistics Planning:

• Manage inbound and outbound logistics to ensure timely deliveries.
• Coordinate with transport providers and optimize routing for cost efficiency.

Staff Planning:

• Plan workforce requirements, including recruitment and scheduling, to meet operational demands.
• Supervise, train, and motivate warehouse staff to ensure peak performance.

Production Planning:

• Forecast and manage production schedules to align with demand.
• Ensure all operations comply with quality standards and timelines.

Inventory Management:

• Implement and maintain strict inventory control processes.
• Regularly monitor stock levels, ensuring accuracy and timely replenishment.

Fresh Produce Handling:

• Apply best practices in the handling, storage, and transportation of fresh produce to maintain quality.
• Monitor environmental conditions and optimize storage practices to minimize spoilage.

Wastage Minimization:

• Identify and mitigate sources of wastage in operations.
• Develop strategies to improve product handling and storage conditions.

Qualifications:

• Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in warehouse/operations management, preferably in the F&V Industry.
• Strong knowledge of F&V handling, storage, and quality management.
• Solid understanding of inventory control systems and logistics planning.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in MS Office and warehouse management software.
