Job Description
- Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain Python-based automation applications for electronic test systems.
- Develop automation scripts for RF, EMC/EMI, and laboratory test equipment.
- Integrate and control instruments using communication interfaces such as USB, RS-232, Ethernet, GPIB, CAN, UART, SPI, and I2C.
- Develop software drivers for laboratory instruments and embedded hardware.
- Automate repetitive testing, data acquisition, logging, and report generation.
- Interface with electronic devices using SCPI commands and communication protocols.
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and RF engineers to develop integrated automation solutions.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize automation software and hardware interfaces.
- Develop GUI-based desktop applications using Python (Tkinter, PyQt, or similar frameworks).
- Create technical documentation, user manuals, and code documentation.
- Participate in code reviews and maintain coding standards.
- Stay updated with emerging automation technologies and best practices.
- Required SkillsTechnical SkillsStrong proficiency in Python programming.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in Python development and automation.
- Experience with automation libraries such as:
- PyVISA
- PySerial
- NumPy
- Pandas
- OpenCV (preferred)
- Knowledge of instrument communication protocols:
- SCPI
- VISA
- Serial Communication
- TCP/IP Socket Programming
- Experience with embedded communication interfaces:
- UART
- SPI
- I2C
- CAN
- Modbus (preferred)
- Experience in developing GUI applications using PyQt or Tkinter.
- Knowledge of SQL databases (SQLite, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Familiarity with Git version control.
- Good debugging and troubleshooting skills.
- Domain KnowledgeStrong understanding of Electronics & Communication Engineering fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience with electronic test equipment such as:
- Spectrum Analyzer
- Vector Network Analyzer (VNA)
- Signal Generator
- Oscilloscope
- Power Meter
- Digital Multimeter
- Knowledge of RF measurements and EMC/EMI testing will be an added advantage.
- Experience in industrial automation or electronic product testing is preferred.
- Educational QualificationB.E./B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE)
- Candidates with Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering (E&I) may also apply.
- Preferred Candidate ProfilePassionate about automation and electronics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to understand hardware schematics and interface with electronic devices.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
