Position Summary: We are looking for a Senior Product Analytics Associate – ADW Development to join the athenahealth team in Chennai. This role focuses on building and enhancing data models within the Analytics Data Warehouse (ADW) to support Product Management, Development, Operations, Strategy teams, and customers with standardized, high-quality data assets. The ideal candidate will design scalable star schema data models, develop reliable ETL processes, and improve data consistency and accessibility across the analytics ecosystem. This role requires strong expertise in SQL, data modeling, ETL development, and Python-based automation solutions.
About the Team: The Analytics Data Warehouse (ADW) team at athenahealth is focused on building foundational data assets that power analytics and business insights across the organization. The team collaborates closely with product and business stakeholders to structure, standardize, and deliver reliable data solutions that improve product outcomes and customer value. Essential Job Responsibilities:
Design and develop star schema data models, including fact and dimension tables, within the Analytics Data Warehouse (ADW)
Collaborate with Product Managers and stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions
Build and optimize ETL processes to ensure data freshness, reliability, and performance
Conduct data exploration, profiling, validation, and quality checks across multiple data sources
Develop Python-based automation and reusable tooling solutions to improve data workflows and operational efficiency
Document data models, business definitions, and lineage to support broader organizational consumption
Support analytical and reporting needs by maintaining standardized, high-quality data assets
Additional Job Responsibilities:
Reinforce the use of standardized metrics, data assets, and reporting practices across teams
Identify gaps in existing data models and recommend enhancements to improve scalability and usability
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support evolving analytical requirements
Participate in data validation and testing activities to ensure integrity across pipeline stages
Support visualization and reporting initiatives by designing models optimized for analytics tools
Provide rationale and guidance for data architecture and design decisions
Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with associated product and analytics teams
Expected Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree required; Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Analytics, or Information Systems preferred
Minimum 5+ years of overall professional experience, including 2–3 years in data engineering or data warehouse development preferred
Strong SQL expertise with experience designing and optimizing data models in cloud data warehouse environments (Snowflake preferred)
Experience with ETL tools and workflows, preferably using Airflow
Experience with Python programming and Jupyter Notebooks for automation, profiling, and analytical workflows
Strong understanding of dimensional modeling concepts and star schema design patterns
Familiarity with data visualization and analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Sigma preferred
