Cold Room Technician

1. Service & maintenance 

 cold rooms, deep freezers, chillers, and refrigeration systems

Fix panels (PUF), doors, insulation, and piping

Gas charging (R404A, R134a, R22, etc.)

Electrical wiring and control panel setup

2. Maintenance & Servicing

Perform routine preventive maintenance (PM)

Check compressors, condensers, evaporators

Clean coils, check fan motors, defrost systems

Monitor temperature performance and efficiency

3. Troubleshooting & Repair

Identify faults like gas leakage, compressor failure, icing issues

Repair or replace faulty components (compressor, thermostat, sensors, relays)

Solve cooling issues and temperature fluctuations

4. System Monitoring

Maintain temperature logs and performance records

Ensure system runs within required temperature range (e.g., -18°C, 2–8°C)

Handle alarms and emergency breakdowns

5. Safety & Compliance

Follow safety standards for refrigerant handling

Ensure proper insulation and leak prevention

Comply with industry standards (food/pharma storage norms)

⚙️ Technical Skills Required

Knowledge of refrigeration cycle and HVAC basics

Understanding of compressors (reciprocating, scroll, etc.)

Gas charging & leak detection

Electrical troubleshooting (AC/DC controls, contactors, relays)

Knowledge of cold room panels and insulation

🎓 Qualification

ITI / Diploma in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (RAC) or Electrical

2–5 years experience in cold room or HVAC systems
