Job Summary:

Responsible for leading a team of design engineers to ensure the delivery of new designs from the concept stage to the prototype stage and developing the new range of products based on the business requirement. Also responsible for the sustenance of existing products and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the management of all design activities including concept finalization, design release, design verification, product testing and validation for new products (as per committed timelines.)
• Responsible for effective coordination with internal and external stakeholders to achieve the above.
• Responsible for continuous improvement initiatives such as Value Engineering, Product performance improvement, standardization, localization etc.
• Responsible for current product sustenance and change management thru ECR/ECN process.
• Responsible for design process adherence as per ISO standards.
• Responsible for on time submission of project documents to customers for timely approval. (as per department guidelines) and to minimize the subsequent revisions.
• To review and verify bill of materials and ensure on-time release without errors.
• Responsible for optimal resource utilization.

Basic Qualification:

• B.E (Mechanical)

Key competencies:

• Knowledge of fundamentals of machine component design calculations and selection (preferably in pump industry)
• Working Knowledge of design techniques such as DFMEA,DFM/A and DOE.
• Working knowledge of CAD , CAE and other machine design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Ansys, MIT-CALC etc.
• Working knowledge of GD&T concepts and application.
• Knowledge of industry standards (such as API) and best practices. (preferably on state-of-the-art tools and techniques such as PLM)
• Working knowledge of New product introduction gate process and current product ECR/ECN change management process.
• Basic knowledge of fluid mechanics and fluid power components (eg. Concepts such as NPSH and parts such as valves)
• Good oral and written communication.
• Good presentation skills.
• Good collaborative and interpersonal skills (especially on CFT initiatives)
