Assistant Manager - Strategic Sourcing
Roles and Responsibilities - Strategic Sourcing
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans aligned with business goals
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers for cost, quality, and delivery
- Handle RFQ/RFP processes, commercial negotiations, and cost finalization
- Drive cost reduction through value engineering and alternate sourcing
- Analyze BOM cost and support product cost optimization
- Manage supplier performance (quality, delivery, cost, responsiveness)
- Establish long-term agreements and rate contracts with key suppliers
- Ensure timely PR to PO conversion and procurement efficiency
- Coordinate with planning, production, quality, and engineering teams
- Mitigate supply chain risks and ensure continuity for all customers
- Monitor market trends, commodity pricing, and supplier capacity
- Develop localization strategies to reduce dependency on imports
- Ensure compliance with company policies and customer-specific requirements
- Support audits and maintain sourcing documentation and records
- Drive continuous improvement in sourcing processes and supplier development
