Job Purpose: The Field Service Engineer is responsible for delivering high-quality on-site technical support, including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of forklifts and material handling equipment. The role ensures operational efficiency, minimal downtime, and high customer satisfaction through timely service and adherence to safety and quality standards.

• Key Roles & Responsibilities:Carry out installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and servicing of forklifts and material handling equipment
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults and implement effective corrective actions
• Attend breakdown calls promptly and ensure quick resolution to minimize downtime
• Manage and maintain optimal performance of assigned equipment and rental fleet
• Plan and coordinate movement/transportation of equipment to and from customer sites
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure safety compliance and operational reliability
• Maintain accurate service records including job reports, maintenance logs, and customer feedback
• Ensure availability and proper management of spare parts, tools, and consumables
• Coordinate with internal teams (service, parts, and operations) for efficient service delivery
• Interact with customers professionally, address service concerns, and ensure high satisfaction levels
• Provide basic technical guidance or training to customers for effective equipment usage
• Monitor service quality, turnaround time, and continuously improve operational efficiency
• Report recurring issues, service improvements, and upgrade opportunities to management
• Adhere strictly to company policies, safety standards, and regulatory compliance
• Required Skills & Competencies:Strong technical knowledge in mechanical, electrical, or electro-mechanical systems
• Good understanding of forklifts and material handling equipment (preferred)
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and wiring diagrams
• Good communication and customer-handling skills
• Ability to work independently and manage field assignments efficiently
• Basic computer skills (MS Office, service reporting tools)
• Time management and ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure
• Qualifications & Experience:Diploma / Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Automobile Engineering or related field
• 3–5 years (or more) of experience in field service, maintenance, or equipment servicing
• Experience in forklifts, heavy equipment, construction machinery, or similar industries is preferred
• Familiarity with field tools, diagnostics, and service documentation
