Laundry Operator

Role Overview

The Senior Laundry Operator is the most critical role in the laundry. This person is responsible for operating the Xsoni XWS-30 industrial washer-extractor, dryer, Stefab flatwork calendar ironer, and all associated equipment. Quality of hotel linen processed daily depends entirely on this person's skill, discipline, and judgement.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate Xsoni XWS-30 30kg fully automatic washer-extractor — select correct wash programs for whites, colours, and towels

• Load and unload washer correctly — never exceed 80% drum capacity

• Monitor Diversey CLAX chemical dosing system — refill drums when low, report any dosing irregularities

• Operate Stefab 1500mm flatwork calendar ironer — set correct temperature for linen type, feed sheets correctly

• Perform pre-treatment of stained linen at stain removal station before loading washer

• Inspect all linen before and after washing — identify damage, note on tally sheet

• Maintain production flow — coordinate washer, calendar, and dryer sequence to maximise output

• Maintain cleanliness of machines — wipe down after every shift, report any machine issues immediately

• Train and supervise laundry helpers on correct procedures

• Complete daily production log — cycles run, kg processed, any issues

Must Know / Must Have

• Prior hands-on experience with industrial washing machines — front load commercial washers minimum

• Basic understanding of laundry chemistry — detergents, bleach, neutraliser, softener

• Calendar/flatwork ironer experience strongly preferred

• Understanding of linen segregation — whites vs colours, flat vs towels

• Physically fit — role involves standing, lifting, and moving linen throughout shift

• Reliable and punctual — hotel clients depend on same-day turnaround

Working Conditions

• 6-day work week — Sunday off (or as mutually agreed based on hotel schedules)

• Day shift only — 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

• Physical work environment — standing, lifting up to 15kg, hot and humid near machines

• Protective equipment provided — aprons, rubber gloves, safety shoes

• Clean drinking water and rest area provided at premises
