An Education Counsellor helps students make informed decisions about their academic and career paths. They guide students in setting goals, exploring options, and developing plans, often working with students, parents, and educational institutions. Their work involves providing academic counseling, career guidance, and personal support, as well as assessing student needs and referring them to appropriate resources. 

Key Responsibilities and Skills:

Academic and Career Guidance:

Assisting students with course selection, college applications, career planning, and exploring different paths. 

Personal Development:

Providing support for students facing academic, emotional, or social challenges, including building self-esteem and interpersonal skills. 

Communication and Collaboration:

Effectively communicating with students, parents, teachers, and other professionals. 

Resource Management:

Providing information about scholarships, financial aid, and other relevant resources. 

Counseling and Support:

Conducting individual and group counseling sessions to address student needs and concerns. 

Organizational Skills:

Maintaining accurate records, developing programs, and coordinating activities. 

Problem-Solving:

Identifying and resolving issues that may affect student academic progress or well-being.
