Waiter / Steward

Summary:

The Restaurant Steward will be responsible for providing an exceptional dining experience to all guests by ensuring prompt, courteous, and efficient service. This role involves taking and serving food & beverage orders, maintaining cleanliness and organization of service areas, and upholding Sidewok Restaurant’s service standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and seat guests in a warm, friendly manner.
• Present menus, answer questions about menu items, and make recommendations when requested.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders and relay them to the kitchen/bar promptly.
• Serve food and drinks efficiently while ensuring presentation standards are met.
• Check with guests to ensure satisfaction with each course and overall experience.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, service stations, and dining areas.
• Prepare tables by setting up linens, silverware, and glassware.
• Assist with clearing tables and resetting them for new guests.
• Handle guest complaints or requests professionally and escalate when necessary.
• Process bills and collect payments accurately.
• Adhere to Sidewok Restaurant’s hygiene, grooming, and safety protocols.
• Support the team in stock replenishment, side duties, and overall operations.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Previous experience as a waiter/waitress or steward in a restaurant or hotel is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Positive attitude with a focus on excellent guest service.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage service techniques.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
