2. Key Responsibilitiesa) Product Design & Development

• 2D/3D design using tools like AutoCAD and SolidWorks
• Sheet metal design including bending allowance and development calculations
• Fixture and jig design
• Prototype (Proto) development

b) Cost Optimization

• Material utilization improvement
• Nesting optimization for laser cutting
• Reduction in scrap and process inefficiencies

c) Customer Drawing Review

• Analyze and validate customer drawings
• Identify missing dimensions, tolerance issues, and manufacturability concerns

d) Proto Development & Approval

• Coordinate with production for sample development
• Ensure first-time-right development and customer approval readiness

e) Production Support

• Resolve shop floor issues (fitment, welding, assembly)
• Ensure smooth transition from development to production

f) Documentation

• BOM preparation
• Process sheets
• Revision control and development tracking

• 3. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Development lead time: 7–10 days per part
• First-time approval rate: ≥ 90%
• Cost reduction: 2–5% per quarter
• Design-related rejection: Zero tolerance
• Drawing accuracy: No missing dimensions/tolerance errors

5. Hiring ApproachWe are looking for a hybrid engineer with both design and production understanding, rather than a purely software-based designer.

Recommended structure:

• 1 Senior JDE (₹40–50k/month)
