Role Overview
Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited (KMBL) – GIFT City Branch is looking to onboard Investment Specialists to drive offshore investment solutions for Indian residents investing under the Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS).
The selected candidates will be employed by the GIFT City branch and will be responsible for market coverage of Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore. While the official base will be GIFT City, the role requires significant time spent in the assigned geography for client engagement, relationship deepening, and business development.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a subject-matter expert for offshore investment products offered through GIFT City for Indian residents under LRS.
- Advise clients on asset allocation, portfolio construction, and offshore diversification, aligned with client risk profiles and regulatory frameworks.
- Drive investment-led conversations with Private Banking, Wealth, and Affluent relationship teams across assigned geographies.
- Partner closely with onshore RM teams to originate, convert, and grow offshore investment flows.
- Provide regular market insights, global investment themes, and product updates to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure end-to-end transaction execution, documentation, and adherence to RBI, FEMA, and internal compliance guidelines.
- Support new product launches, platform enhancements, and process improvements for offshore offerings.

Business & Revenue
- Offshore AUM mobilization under LRS
- Net new client acquisition for offshore investments
- Revenue generation from investment products
- Cross-sell and wallet-share enhancement
Client Engagement
- Quality and depth of client interactions
- Conversion ratio from leads to funded accounts
- Client retention and repeat investments
Product & Advisory Effectiveness
- Product penetration across asset classes (funds, bonds, structured products, alternatives, etc.)
- Portfolio performance alignment with client objectives
- Adoption of global market themes and tactical ideas
Governance & Compliance
- Zero tolerance for compliance breaches
- Timely and accurate documentation
- Adherence to internal and regulatory guidelines
Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of investment products (mutual funds, PMS/AIFs, bonds, structured products, discretionary/ advisory portfolios).
- Experience with USD-denominated products and offshore structures is highly desirable.
- Working knowledge of global financial markets, asset classes, and macroeconomic drivers.
- Familiarity with LRS, FEMA regulations, and offshore investing frameworks.

Experience & Eligibility
- Minimum 5–12 years of relevant experience (depending on grade) in investments, private banking, wealth management, or treasury distribution.
- Prior experience in investment advisory, product specialization, or portfolio solutions is mandatory.
- Exposure to offshore / international investments will be a strong advantage.
- Proven track record of managing investment-led relationships and meeting revenue targets.
Educational Qualifications
- Graduate in any discipline (mandatory)
- Post-graduation (MBA/CA/CFA or equivalent) preferred
- CFA / CWM / CFP or other relevant certifications will be an added advantage
