Accountant

Job OverviewWe are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Accountant to manage daily accounting operations for our retail supermarket brand, Bazario Supermart. The candidate must have strong hands-on experience in Tally ERP and Marg ERP, and should be comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.

• Key Responsibilities1. Accounting & BookkeepingMaintain day-to-day accounting entries in Tally
• Manage purchase, sales, receipts, payments, and journal entries
• Ensure proper ledger maintenance and reconciliation
• 2. Inventory & Retail AccountingHandle inventory accounting through Marg ERP
• Monitor stock valuation, stock movement, and discrepancies
• Coordinate with store team for stock audits and variance control
• 3. GST & CompliancePrepare and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B)
• Reconcile GSTR-2A / 2B with purchase records
• Ensure proper HSN classification and tax compliance
• 4. Vendor & Creditor ManagementMaintain accounts of creditors and debtors
• Perform periodic reconciliations with suppliers
• Track payments, outstanding balances, and due dates
• 5. Financial ReportingGenerate daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports
• Assist in preparing Profit & Loss statements and balance sheets
• Provide insights on expenses, margins, and cost control
• 6. Cash & Bank HandlingMonitor daily cash flow and bank transactions
• Perform bank reconciliation statements (BRS)
• Ensure accuracy in cash handling and reporting
• 7. Internal Controls & AuditEnsure proper documentation and record keeping
• Support internal and external audits
• Identify discrepancies and suggest corrective actions
• Required Skills & QualificationsStrong working knowledge of Tally ERP and Marg ERP (Mandatory)
• Good understanding of GST, taxation, and retail accounting
• Experience in supermarket / retail industry preferred
• Proficiency in MS Excel and basic reporting
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
• ExperienceMinimum 5 years of experience in accounting
• Retail / supermarket experience will be an added advantage
