Assembly Fitter

Job Summary:

The Assembly Fitter is responsible for assembling mechanical components, machines, and sub-assemblies as per drawings and specifications. The role requires hands-on experience in fitting, alignment, and installation of parts to ensure proper machine functionality and quality standards.

• Key Responsibilities:Read and understand mechanical drawings, layouts, and assembly instructions
• Perform fitting and assembly of machine components, structures, and sub-assemblies
• Handle tools like spanners, drills, grinders, and measuring instruments
• Ensure proper alignment, leveling, and finishing of assembled parts
• Perform drilling, tapping, cutting, and minor fabrication work
• Coordinate with design and production teams for assembly requirements
• Identify and report any mismatch, defects, or design issues during assembly
• Conduct trial runs and assist in machine testing
• Maintain cleanliness and safety at the workplace
• Follow company quality standards and procedures
• Required Skills:Strong knowledge of mechanical fitting and assembly
• Ability to read engineering drawings
• Hands-on experience with workshop tools and machines
• Basic knowledge of tolerances, alignment, and measurements
• Problem-solving approach and attention to detail
• Qualification:ITI (Fitter) / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• 2–5 years of experience in machine assembly (SPM/industrial machines preferred)
• Preferred:Experience in Special Purpose Machine (SPM) assembly
• Knowledge of pneumatic or hydraulic systems
• Ability to work independently and in a team
