Job Description
- Key Responsibilities1. Production & OperationsPlan, execute, and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules
- Ensure smooth functioning of assembly lines (FPV, UAV, electronics, mechanical, composites, testing)
- Achieve production targets without compromising quality
- Coordinate with R&D / Engineering / QA for design-to-production transition
- Implement lean manufacturing and process optimisation
- 2. Quality & ComplianceEnsure adherence to quality standards, SOPs, and defence compliance norms
- Enforce in-process quality checks and final inspection protocols
- Coordinate with QA/QC teams for root-cause analysis and corrective actions
- Maintain proper documentation, batch records, and traceability
- 3. Workforce & Shopfloor ManagementManage technicians, supervisors, operators, and helpers
- Enforce discipline, punctuality, and shopfloor hierarchy
- Allocate manpower optimally across shifts and lines
- Conduct skill development, training, and performance monitoring
- Maintain a no-compromise culture on safety and accountability
- 4. Inventory, Tools & AssetsOversee raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventory
- Coordinate with Procurement & Stores to avoid shortages or excess
- Ensure proper usage, calibration, and maintenance of tools, jigs, fixtures, and machinery
- Prevent material wastage, pilferage, and process leakages
- 5. Safety, Security & InfrastructureEnsure compliance with industrial safety, EHS norms, and defence-sensitive protocols
- Maintain clean, organised, and secure factory premises
- Implement access control, asset security, and incident reporting
- Lead emergency response and safety drills when required
- 6. Reporting & CoordinationSubmit daily production reports, delay analysis, and capacity utilisation data
- Escalate risks, bottlenecks, and manpower issues proactively
- Coordinate closely with Accounts (costing), HR (manpower), BD (delivery timelines)
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Production output vs plan
- First-pass yield & defect rate
- On-time delivery adherence
- Inventory accuracy & wastage reduction
- Safety incidents (zero tolerance)
- Workforce productivity & discipline
- Required QualificationsDiploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, Electronics, or related field
- 5–10 years of experience in manufacturing / factory operations
- Experience in electronics, aerospace, defence, automotive, or precision manufacturing preferred
- Required Skills & CompetenciesStrong shopfloor command and people management
- Deep understanding of manufacturing processes and SOPs
- Ability to work under tight timelines and high accountability
- Hands-on, execution-driven mindset (not desk-oriented)
- High integrity, discipline, and problem-solving ability
- Preferred (Good to Have)Experience in defence/aerospace manufacturing
- Exposure to ISO, AS, or defence quality systems
- Familiarity with lean, 5S, Kaizen, TPM
- Ability to scale production from prototype to mass manufacturing
