Job Description
- Key Responsibilities1. Production Planning & ExecutionTranslate production plans into daily, weekly, and monthly manufacturing schedules
- Ensure on-time delivery of all production commitments
- Optimize manpower, machines, and materials for maximum efficiency
- Monitor and control line productivity, cycle times, and bottlenecks
- 2. Shop Floor ManagementLead supervisors, technicians, and operators on the shop floor
- Ensure discipline, safety, and SOP adherence
- Implement 5S, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement practices
- Drive accountability through shift-wise targets and reviews
- 3. Quality & ComplianceEnsure manufacturing complies with internal quality standards and customer specifications
- Coordinate with QA/QC for:
- In-process inspections
- First Article Inspection (FAI)
- Final acceptance tests
- Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions for defects
- 4. Inventory & Material CoordinationCoordinate with Procurement & Stores for:
- Raw material availability
- WIP control
- Finished goods movement
- Minimize material wastage, rework, and scrap
- Ensure proper traceability and documentation
- 5. Cross-Functional CoordinationWork closely with:
- Design/R&D for manufacturability feedback
- Supply Chain for material readiness
- Quality for compliance and audits
- PMO/Operations for delivery commitments
- Support new product introduction (NPI) and pilot builds
- 6. Cost, Efficiency & ImprovementDrive cost reduction initiatives
- Improve yield, throughput, and resource utilization
- Track and improve OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)
- Lead Kaizen / improvement projects
- 7. Reporting & DocumentationMaintain production MIS:
- Plan vs Actual
- Productivity
- Rejections & rework
- Submit daily and weekly reports to leadership
- Ensure manufacturing documentation is audit-ready
