Project Manager – Power Plant

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Project Manager to lead and manage the execution of power plant, preference will be given to candidates having knowledge of Biomass Gasification Projects from initiation through completion. This role will oversee all aspects of project planning, execution, monitoring, and closure to ensure timely delivery within scope, budget, and quality requirements. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical knowledge of power plant systems, and proven experience managing complex, large-scale infrastructure projects in the energy sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, coordinate, and execute power plant projects including construction, modernization, maintenance, or decommissioning.
• Develop comprehensive project scopes, schedules (using tools such as MS Project or Primavera), budgets, and risk assessments.
• Lead cross-functional project teams including engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and safety personnel.
• Interface with stakeholders such as utility companies, regulatory bodies, EPC contractors, consultants, and internal leadership.
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety standards, environmental regulations, and industry best practices.
• Track project performance using KPIs and regularly report on progress, costs, and issues to senior management.
• Manage project documentation, contracts, change orders, and procurement activities.
• Proactively identify and mitigate project risks and resolve issues to avoid delays or budget overruns.
• Support commissioning and handover activities, ensuring systems are delivered to operational standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related field.
• PMP certification or equivalent project management accreditation is strongly preferred.
• Minimum 7–10 years of project management experience in the power generation or energy industry.
• Proven track record in managing medium-scale industrial projects.
• Strong understanding of power plant systems (e.g., turbines, boilers, generators, electrical infrastructure).
• Proficient in project management tools such as MS Project, Primavera P6, or similar.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, EPA, NERC).

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) contract structures.
• Background in conventional (thermal/gas/nuclear) or renewable (Biomass Gasification) power projects.
• Familiarity with permitting processes and regulatory compliance in the energy sector.

Working Conditions:

• Role may require travel to project sites, including remote or high-risk environments.
• Ability to work in outdoor, industrial environments, as project demands.
