Job Summary
The Sea Freight Operations Executive handles the daily execution of ocean freight shipments. This role ensures efficient, cost-effective, and compliant handling of import and export cargo.
Key Responsibilities
- Booking Management: Coordinate directly with shipping lines, liners, and co-loaders to secure container space.
- Documentation: Prepare and verify Bills of Lading (B/L), shipping instructions, customs invoices, and packing lists.
- Tracking & Tracing: Monitor shipment status from origin to destination and provide updates to clients.
- Customer Service: Resolve customer queries regarding delivery timelines, freight rates, and documentation issues.
- Vendor Coordination: Liaise with transport partners, customs brokers, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth cargo movement.
- Billing: Check vendor invoices, raise invoices for clients, and resolve billing discrepancies.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in sea freight forwarding operations.
- Education: Graduate in any discipline; a diploma in Logistics or Supply Chain is a plus.
- Software Skills: Familiarity with logistics ERP software, Port Community Systems (PCS), and MS Excel.
- Knowledge: Basic understanding of Incoterms, customs clearance processes, and shipping line procedures.
- Skills: Strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and high attention to detail.
