Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Location: Gummidipoondi

Experience: Above 7 Years (Experience in construction equipment / heavy machinery industry will be considered an added advantage.)

Qualification: Diploma / B.E / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering + Safety Certification (Preferred)

Job Purpose:

To ensure safe installation, operation, and maintenance of all electrical systems and equipment in the organization by implementing effective electrical safety standards, audits, risk assessments, and preventive measures.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with Electrical Safety Standards, IE Rules, IS Codes, and organizational safety policies.
• Conduct Electrical Safety Audits, inspections, and compliance checks at regular intervals.
• Identify electrical hazards and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Prepare, review, and update Electrical Risk Assessments, LOTO procedures, Permit to Work systems, and Safe Operating Procedures.
• Monitor the condition of electrical equipment such as panel boards, transformers, cables, motors, earthing pits, and DG sets.
• Ensure proper implementation of Earthing/ Grounding, circuit protection, relay coordination, and electrical load distribution.
• Verify licenses and competency certificates of electrical contractors, technicians, and operators.
• Conduct training and awareness for employees and contractors on electrical safety and emergency response.
• Investigate electrical incidents/near-misses and prepare reports with root cause analysis.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external statutory bodies for compliance and inspections.
• Ensure proper use of PPE and safety devices for electrical work.
• Maintain documentation of reports, audit findings, and compliance certificates.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of Electrical Codes, Standards and Regulations.
• Experience in PTW Systems, LOTO, Arc Flash Safety, and Hazard Identification.
• Good understanding of power distribution systems and industrial electrical equipment.
• Analytical thinking, problem-solving, and reporting abilities.
• Good communication and training capability.
