Job Title: Sheet Metal Laser Cutting & CNC Press Brake Operator
Department: Manufacturing / Production
Experience: 3–5 Years (Sheet Metal Fabrication Industry)
Reporting To: Manufacturing Supervisor / Production Manager
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Laser Cutting & CNC Press Brake Operator to operate and maintain G-WEIKE Laser Cutting Machine and ELEHYD Euro 50-1131 CNC Press Brake. The candidate should be capable of understanding nesting, optimizing material utilization, reducing scrap, performing quality inspections, coordinating with suppliers for raw materials, and ensuring production targets are achieved with high quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Laser Cutting Operations (G-WEIKE Laser)
- Operate and monitor the G-WEIKE CNC Fiber Laser Cutting Machine.
- Load programs and execute production jobs as per approved drawings.
- Set machine parameters based on material type and thickness.
- Ensure proper machine maintenance and cleanliness.
- Monitor cutting quality and minimize downtime.
CNC Press Brake / Folding Operations (ELEHYD Euro 50-1131)
- Operate ELEHYD Euro 50-1131 CNC Press Brake for accurate bending operations.
- Select suitable punches and dies based on material and bend requirements.
- Perform first-piece inspection before batch production.
- Ensure dimensional accuracy, bend angle, and surface quality.
- Correct machine settings to achieve required tolerances.
Nesting & Material Optimization
- Understand CNC nesting layouts and cutting sequences.
- Verify nesting before production.
- Maximize sheet utilization to minimize scrap.
- Suggest improvements to improve material yield.
- Maintain records of material consumption and scrap generation.
Raw Material Management
- Identify different grades of sheet metal (CRCA, HR, GI, Stainless Steel, Aluminium, etc.).
- Verify incoming material specifications including thickness and dimensions.
- Monitor stock availability.
- Coordinate with stores for material requirements.
- Report any material discrepancies immediately.
