Surface Grinder Machine Operator

GS Tool & Dies is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Surface Grinder Machine Operator to join our precision manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for finishing high-quality components for dies, jigs, fixtures, and injection molding parts. The ideal candidate must have a deep understanding of manual and semi-automatic grinding processes, ensuring that every piece meets our rigorous tolerances and surface finish standards.

Key Responsibilities-

• Machine Operation: Set up and operate surface grinding machines to grind flat or contoured surfaces of metal workpieces.
• Precision Measurement: Interpret engineering drawings and use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, vernier calipers, dial indicators) to verify dimensions within microns.
• Wheel Dressing: Select and dress appropriate grinding wheels based on material hardness and required surface finish.
• Workholding: Secure workpieces using magnetic chucks, sine plates, or specialized fixtures to maintain perfect parallelism and squareness.
• Quality Control: Conduct routine checks to ensure parts comply with given engineering drawing.
• Maintenance: Perform daily machine maintenance, including coolant management and lubrication, to ensure operational efficiency.
