About your role
The purpose of this role is to deliver high-quality, commercially-orientated and responsive finance support and partnering to our FIL Platforms business, targeting growth in enterprise value. Working alongside of the Head of FIL Platforms Business Finance, this role incorporates a mix of financial analysis & insight generation, business planning and forecasting, reporting and communication, business case development & appraisal, project management and financial contribution to key initiatives relating to the development of FIL Platforms.
This isn’t just a traditional, accounting-focused FP&A role. As we evolve the CFO Group function we are seeking high calibre individuals who cannot just ‘report the numbers’, but can deploy their financial, data, technical, commercial and engagement skills to drive decision-making.
This role will face off to senior members of the FIL Platforms function and the individual will work closely with the business areas they support and with other finance and business teams including our Global Capability Hubs to ensure our information, analyses and recommendations are timely, accurate, engaging, aligned to business needs and support value creation.
The responsibilities will evolve over time in line with the needs of the business and the capabilities, experience and interest of individual undertaking the role, but will include:
- Shape and lead delivery of financial analyses and reporting outputs, including management information, forecasts, budgets and analysis, ensuring they are timely, accurate, engaging, aligned to business needs and support value creation.
- Develop clear and coherent financial narratives, explain performance, key drivers, risks and sensitivities to drive understanding and action.
- Coordinate finance activity that supports or impacts FIL Platforms, ensuring issues, dependencies and priorities are identified early and managed appropriately.
- Supporte continuous improvement in Finance processes, including standardisation, simplification and automation, in partnership with global finance teams. Leverage data and AI to drive insight and value.
- Effectively engage with selected FIL Platforms stakeholders, and supporting on various topics, initiatives and forums where appropriate.
- Providing financial analysis, insight and project management on FIL Platforms / Finance projects and priority initiatives, ensuring effective delivery of Finance input.
- Collaborate effectively with Finance colleagues across our wider the business and with other Corporate Enabler teams to ensure alignment and consistency of outputs.
- Support delivery of the annual budget, forecast and multi-year planning processes through coordination, analysis and insight.
- Supoprt the personal development of Finance colleagues in UK and in Global Capabilty Hubs through day-to-day collaboration, knowledge-sharing and feedback.
- Assist in the maintenance of a sound financial control environment within FIL Platforms.
- Contributing to the ongoing improvement of finance systems, processes and data.
- Contribute to strategic iniatives and projects across both the CFO Group and wider organisation in line with priorities.
About you
- Commercially orientated, qualified accountant with strong experience in business finance roles and/or business partnering within asset management or a related financial services environment.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability distil key themes, insights and recommendations while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience working in an international finance environment, with an understanding of how to operate effectively with teams spread across multiple locations and fuctions.
- Possess a contemporary data-orientated skillset, excited to explore opportunities presented by AI.
- Comfortable operating at the interface between financial analysis and commercial strategy .
- Clear and effective communicator, able to translate complex financial information into meaningful messages.
- Collaborative and pragmatic in approach, with the ability to work constructively across teams and cultures.
- Demonstrates enthusiasm, drive, and a strong work ethic, with a commitment to learning and career development. Shows a proactive, hands‑on approach; willing to step in, adapt, and flex as priorities evolve.
- Well organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively under pressure.
