Job Description

Senior Project Manager – R&D (Mechanical)

Work Flexibility: Hybrid

What You Will Do

Lead end-to-end execution of complex mechanical and electro-mechanical R&D programs from concept through commercialization.
Own and manage integrated project plans covering scope, schedule, cost, quality, risks, and dependencies.
Drive disciplined execution using phase-gate / PDP frameworks while ensuring Design Control compliance.
Partner with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Clinical, Marketing) across global sites.
Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate technical, regulatory, supply chain, and schedule risks.
Develop and manage project budgets, resource plans, procurement strategies, and supplier engagements.
Lead governance activities including design reviews, phase-gate reviews, executive updates, and escalation forums.
Act as the primary communication and alignment hub, influencing stakeholders without direct authority and keeping the customer/patient at the center.

What You Need

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
Minimum 8+ years of experience managing technical or R&D projects.
Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.
Strong foundation in project management fundamentals (scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality).
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with technical teams and senior stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

PMP certification or equivalent formal project management credential.
Experience in medical device, regulated product development, or highly regulated industries.
Working knowledge of FDA, ISO 13485, and Design Control / DHF requirements.
Strong background in mechanical or electro-mechanical product development programs.
Proven ability to influence without authority, manage ambiguity, and drive results under pressure.
