Job Description
The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for inspecting precision CNC machined components to ensure they meet strict dimensional and quality standards. The role requires high attention to detail, strong observational skills, and dedication to maintaining product quality, especially when working with extremely tight tolerances (up to 10-20 microns).
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed inspection of CNC machined components using precision measuring instruments.
- Verify dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes as per engineering drawings and specifications.
- Ensure components meet ultra-precision tolerances (up to 0.05 microns).
- Use tools such as micrometers, vernier calipers, height gauges, dial indicators, and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine).
- Identify defects, deviations, or non-conformities and report them promptly.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation.
- Collaborate with production teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
- Ensure compliance with company quality standards and safety procedures.
- Conduct in-process and final inspections.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in quality control.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Knowledge of CNC machining processes and materials.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments.
- Basic understanding of quality control standards and inspection techniques.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- High level of dedication, discipline, and responsibility at the workplace.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Education & Experience:
- Diploma/ITI/Technical certification in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Prior experience in quality inspection of CNC machined components is preferred.
Work Environment & Expectations:
- Work in a manufacturing/shop floor environment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the inspection area.
- Follow all safety and quality procedures strictly.
- Demonstrate professionalism, commitment, and continuous learning attitude.
