Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a dedicated and experienced Automation Engineer to lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of automation solutions across various technology domains. This role involves managing automation projects, ensuring quality and performance standards, providing technical support, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to enhance operational efficiency.
Software Requirements
Required Software Proficiency:
Automation tools such as Selenium, UFT, or similar — extensive experience in developing and executing automation scripts
Programming/scripting languages: Python, Java, or JavaScript — strong coding skills for automation and support tasks
Testing frameworks: TestNG, JUnit, or similar — proven experience in automated testing and integration
CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps — experience implementing automation pipelines for build and deployment processes
Version control: Git — proficiency managing code repositories in collaborative environments
Preferred Software Skills:
Performance testing tools: LoadRunner, JMeter — experience in performance and stress testing
Configuration management tools: Ansible, Chef, Puppet — for automation of infrastructure deployment
Monitoring tools: Prometheus, ELK stack — for automation of system monitoring and alerting
Overall Responsibilities
Lead the development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of automation frameworks and scripts
Collaborate with QA, DevOps, and development teams to design and implement automation solutions for functional, regression, and performance testing
Manage automation projects, prioritize tasks, and ensure timely delivery aligned with organizational goals
Troubleshoot automation scripts, identify issues, and implement optimizations for efficiency and reliability
Support the enhancement of existing automation frameworks and introduce new tools and best practices
Document automation processes, scripts, and configurations for operational consistency
Conduct code reviews and mentor team members to promote quality standards in automation deliverables
Stay current with technological advancements in automation tools, frameworks, and methodologies; share insights and foster a culture of continuous improvement

Programming Languages:
Essential: Python, Java, or JavaScript — proven ability to develop, maintain, and troubleshoot automation scripts
Preferred: Shell scripting or PowerShell — for infrastructure automation and system management
Testing & Automation Frameworks:
Essential: Selenium, TestNG, JUnit — experience in creating reusable test scripts and frameworks
Infrastructure & DevOps Tools:
Jenkins, Git, Azure DevOps, or similar — for implementing automated build, test, and deployment pipelines
Monitoring & Performance Tools:
ELK stack, Prometheus, JMeter — for performance testing, monitoring, and alerting processes
Version Control & Collaboration:
Git, Jira, Confluence — for efficient task management and team collaboration
Experience Requirements
Minimum of 8+ years in automation testing, scripting, or DevOps roles with hands-on experience in automation frameworks
Demonstrated success in automating functional, regression, performance, and infrastructure testing processes
Proven experience managing automation projects from design through execution and optimization
Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline implementation and automation best practices
Experience working within Agile teams and collaborating with cross-disciplinary stakeholders
Day-to-Day Activities
Develop, execute, and maintain automation scripts for multiple testing and deployment scenarios
Collaborate with QA and development teams to define test cases and automation strategies
Integrate automation frameworks into CI/CD pipelines for automated builds and deployments
Troubleshoot automation failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
Conduct performance and load testing, analyzing results to optimize systems
Review and update automation scripts to improve efficiency and coverage
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members
Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and review sessions to ensure alignment and accountability
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field
8+ years of hands-on experience in automation testing, scripting, or DevOps environments
Certifications in automation tools or CI/CD platforms (e.g., ISTQB, Jenkins certifications) are advantageous
Proven ability to manage multiple automation projects and deliver results within tight deadlines
