Organizational Overview:
This role will be a part of the Technology and Operations organization in the Business Solutions teams and will support the Agile Delivery team for Financial Applications. This role will report to the VP, Finance & Treasury Technology
Role Summary/Purpose:
We are seeking an experienced project manager/scrum master responsible for management of strategic and tactical projects through Agile methodologies to server our Finance & Accounting applications and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will facilitate Agile ceremonies, remove impediments, and ensure smooth collaboration between business, technical teams, and stakeholders spread across multiple locations. This role is responsible for collaborating with scrum teams, product owners, program manager, project managers, and business leaders in setting the agile roadmap along with driving new innovations and leading the agile teams to deliver in partnership with Finance & Accounting functional teams.
Essential Responsibilities:
Execute on and lead enterprise agile initiatives, utilizing Scrum Agile Methodology
Partner with the product owners and technical teams in writing user stories which include sizing, acceptance criteria, etc. in a effort to utilize standard development and functionality as much as possible to retain lowest cost of ownership
Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, dependencies and risks/issues
Leads sprint planning and task definition, sprint execution, impediment removal and tracking, sprint review, and retrospectives
Work with Third Party resources (GDC and other staff aug when utilized) to ensure project tasks align with delivery dates
Manage overall agile program increment testing, integration & release. Engage business and customer stakeholders for User Acceptance Testing (UAT
Execute on production deployment deliverables & provide post implementation support
Plan and communicate with business, IT Leadership, and other key stakeholders regarding agile program status, milestones, issue resolution and escalation
Assist with the planning and execution of various operational readiness activities with change management prior to releasing into a production environment
Interact with business users to gather/validate requirements/epics and develop detailed roadmap that meets business objectives
Responsible and accountable for overall project performance.
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 5+ years of Technology experience managing large, complex projects in high-tech development environments with multiple teams
Minimum of 5 years of Technology project management experience in financial services or banking industry
Minimum of 5 years of experience with project management methodology (Waterfall, Agile) and all phases of SDLC
Desired Characteristics:
Proven experience as a Scrum Master in Agile software development projects, preferably with Oracle or other financial applications
Experience in meeting facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and transparency
Ability to prioritize and manage work to adhere to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment
Proven track record of leading and executing on critical business initiatives on-time and within budget
Comprehensive understanding of change management techniques associated with new technology implementation
Excellent communications skills (both written and verbal) and ability to work effectively with all levels of Technology and business management and with third-party vendors
Strong business acumen including a broad understanding of finance & accounting business processes and practices
Demonstrated ability to drive change and work effectively across business boundaries
Experience with assisting large-scale agile transformation and organizational change efforts
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Certified Scrum Master/SAFe Certified
Eligibility Criteria:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Information Technology or, in lieu of the Bachelor's degree, a minimum of 4 years of experience in Information
Work Timings:
11:00 AM 1:00 PM EST (Flexible shifts)
This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time – 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs)
