Description & Requirements

An AWS Solution Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based solutions using Amazon Web Services (AWS). Their role bridges business requirements with technical solutions, ensuring scalability, security, and cost-efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Solution Design: Develop scalable, fault-tolerant, and cost-effective architectures using AWS services like EC2, S3, Lambda, and RDS. Ensure compliance with AWS best practices and industry standards.
• Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize system performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency. Implement strategies for AWS cost management using tools like AWS Cost Explorer.
• Security and Compliance: Enforce robust security measures, including IAM policies, encryption, and security groups. Ensure solutions meet compliance standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS.
• Infrastructure Automation: Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like AWS CloudFormation or Terraform. Automate deployment and scaling processes, integrating with CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Create detailed documentation, including architecture diagrams, and present designs to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Technical Leadership: Provide guidance to development teams on AWS best practices. Lead architectural discussions and mentor junior team members.
• Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Proactively monitor systems, address performance bottlenecks, and resolve AWS-related issues to maintain high availability.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of AWS core services, cloud architecture patterns, and best practices.
• Proficiency in networking concepts, scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash), and database technologies (SQL, NoSQL).
• Experience with DevOps and SysOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code tools.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Relevant AWS certifications, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional, are highly valued.
