Job Description
A Dental Assistant supports dentists during patient treatments and helps maintain smooth clinic operations. Responsibilities include preparing patients, sterilizing instruments, assisting during procedures, taking X-rays, scheduling appointments, and maintaining patient records. Strong communication, organization, and knowledge of dental procedures are important. A dental assistant training program or certification may be required depending on location.
- Clinical DutiesPrepare patients for dental procedures
- Sterilize and organize dental instruments and equipment
- Assist the dentist during treatments (handing tools, suctioning, etc.)
- Take and develop dental X-rays
- Maintain infection control and safety standards
- Provide patients with post-treatment care instructions
