Field Technician - Data Center - Hyderabad

Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Data Center Field Technician with expertise in Passive Structured Cabling to install, maintain, and troubleshoot structured cabling infrastructure within data center environments. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with copper and fiber optic cabling, rack and stack activities, cable testing, labeling, documentation, and adherence to industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and test Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, OM3/OM4, OS1/OS2 fiber optic cabling.
• Perform installation of passive network infrastructure, including:
• Structured cabling
• Fiber optic cabling
• Copper cabling
• Patch panels
• Cable trays and ladder racks
• Raceways and conduits
• Execute rack & stack of servers, network switches, storage devices, and related hardware.
• Perform cable dressing, routing, labeling, and cable management following industry best practices.
• Install and manage fiber patch panels, LIUs (Light Interface Units), and ODFs (Optical Distribution Frames).
• Conduct cable certification and testing using industry-standard test equipment (e.g., Fluke testers, OTDR, Power Meter).
• Perform fiber splicing and termination (fusion or mechanical splice) when required.
• Troubleshoot copper and fiber connectivity issues.
• Maintain accurate as-built documentation, cable schedules, labeling records, and asset inventory.
• Support Moves, Adds, and Changes (MAC) activities within the data center.
• Coordinate with network engineers, project managers, and vendors during implementation projects.
