Job Description

ScrapQ is seeking a dynamic, high-energy Head of Operations & Sales to drive our next phase of growth in the circular economy. In this dual-impact role, you will be the bridge between demand and supply. You will lead our scrap collection, supply chain, and vendor logistics operations while aggressively scaling B2B/corporate client acquisition and institutional sales.

The ideal candidate possesses a gritty, hands-on operational mindset alongside a proven track record of closing high-value corporate deals. You will optimize our hyper-local collection ecosystem, ensure seamless operational efficiency, and rapidly expand our market share.

  • Key Responsibilities1. Operations & Supply Chain ManagementLogistics & Fleet Optimization: Oversee hyper-local logistics, routing, and fleet operations to ensure efficient, timely, and cost-effective scrap collection (B2C, B2B, and institutional).
  • Vendor & Partner Ecosystem: Manage and scale relationships with local collection partners, processing hubs, and recycling plants.
  • Quality & Process Control: Implement strict standard operating procedures (SOPs) for material sorting, weighing accuracy, grading, and warehousing.
  • Tech-Driven Operations: Leverage ScrapQ’s digital platforms to track real-time fulfillment, minimize operational leakages, and improve day-to-day productivity.
  • 2. Sales & Business DevelopmentB2B Corporate Tie-ups: Target, pitch, and close multi-year waste management and recycling contracts with IT parks, manufacturing units, residential societies, and large commercial enterprises.
  • Revenue Growth: Own the regional sales targets and design aggressive go-to-market (GTM) strategies to expand ScrapQ’s market penetration.
  • Account Management: Build long-term relationships with key accounts, ensuring top-tier service delivery, high retention rates, and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Market Intelligence: Track scrap market commodity pricing variations, competitor landscapes, and regulatory updates to dynamically optimize sales pricing frameworks.
  • 3. Leadership & StrategyCross-Functional Leadership: Hire, mentor, and manage a high-performing, multi-tiered team spanning sales executives, ground operations managers, and logistics coordinators.
  • P&L Ownership: Manage budget allocations, control operational expenditures (OpEx), and optimize the unit economics of the collection-to-sale pipeline.
  • Executive Reporting: Collaborate closely with the founding team to align ground operations with corporate strategy.
  • Requirements & QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field. An MBA from a premier institute is a major plus.
  • Experience: 8–12+ years of experience with a strong preference for leaders who have scaled operations in logistics, e-commerce, hyper-local delivery apps, waste management, or B2B supply chain startups.
  • Dual Expertise: Proven capability in handling complex field operations/logistics while simultaneously leading corporate B2B sales teams.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong data proficiency; experience using CRM software, routing software, and data analytics tools to drive operational and sales decisions.
  • Communication & Grit: Exceptional negotiation and leadership skills. This is not a pure desk job—it requires someone comfortable being on the ground with operations teams and in boardroom pitches with corporate clients.
