Inviting applications for the role of Lead Consultant - Level 2 Storage & Backup Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled Storage & Backup Engineer with hands-on experience in Pure Storage, Rubrik Backup & Recovery, and Dell Isilon (PowerScale). The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise storage and data protection environments to ensure high availability, performance, and data resilience.
Responsibilities
Storage Operations & Engineering
•    Administer and support Pure Storage FlashArray & FlashBlade environments
•    Manage and support Dell Isilon / PowerScale scale-out NAS platforms
•    Perform storage provisioning, capacity planning, performance tuning, and optimization
•    Handle firmware, code upgrades, and lifecycle management
•    Troubleshoot complex storage performance and availability issues
•    Design and implement storage solutions for new projects and migrations
Backup & Data Protection
•    Administer and support Rubrik CDM for backup, restore, and disaster recovery
•    Configure SLA domains, backup policies, and retention schedules
•    Perform backup monitoring, failure remediation, and reporting
•    Execute restore operations (file-level, VM-level, application-level)
•    Support ransomware recovery and cyber resilience use cases
•    Integrate Rubrik with VMware, databases, NAS, and cloud workloads
Availability, DR & Compliance
•    Implement and support replication, snapshots, and DR solutions
•    Perform DR testing and recovery validation
•    Ensure compliance with backup and data retention policies
•    Maintain documentation for DR and recovery procedures
Automation & Monitoring
•    Develop basic automation using REST APIs, PowerShell, or Python (preferred)
•    Integrate storage and backup with monitoring tools
•    Create and maintain operational runbooks and SOPs
Collaboration & Support
•    Work closely with virtualization, cloud, database, and application teams
•    Provide L2/L3 operational support and participate in on-call rotations
•    Work with vendors (Pure, Rubrik, Dell) for escalations and support cases
Qualifications we seek in you!
Mandatory Skills
•    Strong hands-on experience with:
o    Pure Storage, Rubrik CDM and Dell Isilon.
•    Experience in enterprise storage and backup environments
•    Strong understanding of:
o    SAN/NAS concepts (FC, iSCSI, NFS, SMB)
o    Snapshot, replication, and DR concepts
o    VMware virtualization (vSphere, VMFS, datastores)
•    Experience with storage migrations and refresh projects
•    Troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
Minimum Qualifications
•    Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
•    Extensive experience in designing, deploying, and managing large-scale enterprise Storage and Backup Infra.
•    Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
•    Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications/ Skills
•    Experience with cloud integrations (AWS, Azure) for backup or tiering
•    Scripting/automation (PowerShell, Python, REST APIs)
•    Knowledge of cybersecurity/ransomware protection features
•    ITIL processes and change management experience
•    Certifications:
o    Pure Storage Certified Professional
o    Rubrik Certified Administrator
o    Dell PowerScale/Isilon certifications.
