About the Role:
Amazon is seeking a highly experienced Manager – Finance Management to lead a team of 25–30 employees within our Global Accounts Receivable Finance Operations group. This role is critical for driving global process excellence in the areas of vendor/client dispute management, invoicing, remittance application, and collections.
The successful candidate will be a strong leader with a proven track record in operational excellence and process efficiency, capable of driving change in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment. This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, hands-on operational leadership, and the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple regions and functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Management Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of 25–30 employees, including operational managers, fostering career growth and continuous learning.
Autonomously manage complex departmental and cross-company initiatives, ensuring alignment with Amazon’s business priorities.
Prioritize workloads effectively, set objectives, and drive execution of the team’s vision and goals.
Establish, refine, and implement policies and procedures that maintain compliance and incorporate best practices.
Lead recruiting efforts and continually raise the talent bar within the team.
Drive team engagement, performance management, and professional development initiatives.
Business Responsibilities:
Set global process priorities and align them with organizational objectives.
Drive improvements in vendor/customer experience through process optimization, automation, and SLA enhancement.
Identify upstream and downstream process improvement opportunities in partnership with business stakeholders.
Collaborate with IT and business partners to scope, implement, and enhance technology solutions that improve operational efficiency.
Expand vendor self-service functionality and improve communication processes to enhance vendor experience.
Optimize global invoicing processes for Retail and Non-Retail channels.
Develop, maintain, and continually improve operational performance metrics to track team effectiveness.
Identify, evaluate, and communicate accounts receivable controllership risks, ensuring adequacy of existing controls.
Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Act requirements, partnering with Internal Audit on controls design and operational effectiveness.
Provide leadership in other receivables areas, including cash application, credit notes management, and debit balance collection.
Basic Qualifications:
10+ years of relevant finance and/or operational experience; CA, CPA, or CWA preferred.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; experience with Lean or Six Sigma techniques is a plus.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate business processes and recommend improvements.
Proven ability to manage complex projects, organize workflows, and drive initiatives to successful outcomes.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Advanced presentation skills with the ability to influence senior leadership.
Demonstrated attention to detail and a strong commitment to operational excellence.
Preferred Qualifications:
Hands-on experience with SQL Server/MySQL or other data analysis tools.
Advanced problem-solving skills using Lean / Six Sigma methodologies.
Proven track record in improving operational metrics and driving automation initiatives.
Strong leadership presence and ability to positively influence behaviors and outcomes across multiple teams and geographies.
