Production Engineer

The Production Engineer is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end

assembly, wiring, and testing of LT switchgear panels (such as PCC, MCC, APFC,

and Distribution Boards). You will manage a team of technicians, ensure

adherence to GA (General Arrangement) drawings, and maintain strict production

timelines while following IS/IEC standards.Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Execution

1)    Workflow Management: Plan daily production schedules to meet delivery deadlines.

• Drawing Interpretation: Thoroughly read and interpret GA drawings, SLDs (Single Line Diagrams), and control wiring schematics

.• Resource Allocation: Assign tasks to fitters and wiremen based on their skill sets.

2)    Technical Oversight

• Busbar Fabrication: Supervise busbar sizing, bending, and sleeve application (ensuring proper clearances).

• Component Integration: Oversee the mounting of switchgear (ACBs, MCCBs, VFDs, PLCs) according to the BOM (Bill of Materials).

• Wiring: Ensure neat and error-free control and power wiring, maintaining color codes and ferrule accuracy.

3)    Quality Control & Testing

• Conduct in-process inspections to catch errors before final assembly.

• Perform or oversee Pre-dispatch Inspections (PDI), including:

◦ Insulation Resistance (IR) tests

◦ High Voltage (HV) tests.

◦ Continuity and functional logic checks.

• Ensure the enclosure’s IP rating (Ingress Protection) meets client specifications.

4)    Documentation & Materials

• Maintain production logs, rejection reports, and "As-Built" drawings.

• Coordinate with the stores department to ensure no shortages of "boughtout" components (lug, glands, switches).

5)    Should have knowledge in the estimations of the Panels and projects
