Job Description

Sales Incentive Specialist

Sales Incentive Specialist:

We are seeking a detail oriented and analytical professional to join our Sales Compensation Case Operations team as a Commissions Case Analyst. This role is critical in ensuring accurate, timely, and well governed resolution of sales compensation cases, while helping improve the overall experience for sales representatives.

This position is designed for someone who enjoys deep investigation and problem solving, and who is motivated to move beyond one off case resolution to identifying patterns, root causes, and opportunities for improvement. While the primary focus is case execution, this role plays an important part in surfacing insights that help reduce repeat issues and operational noise over time.

You will work closely with Case Operations leadership and cross functional partners to support consistent outcomes and continuous improvement.

About the Role:

You will primarily work within Salesforce, Varicent, and related systems to:

  • Research and resolve commissions cases accurately and within defined SLAs.
  • Investigate sales transactions, compensation calculations, and system outputs to determine root cause.
  • Clearly document findings, actions taken, and resolution outcomes in Salesforce.
  • Apply compensation policies and rules consistently while escalating exceptions appropriately.
  • Identify patterns or recurring issues across multiple cases and flag potential systemic problems.
  • Partner with Operations leads to improve case accuracy, consistency, and predictability.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year end activity periods by maintaining high quality under volume.
  • Resolve sales compensation cases using Salesforce, Varicent, and supporting systems, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Perform detailed research into sales data, crediting, calculations, and adjustments to determine correct outcomes.
  • Apply established compensation rules and policies consistently across cases.
  • Document cases thoroughly to support auditability, transparency, and future reference.
  • Identify repeat case drivers and contribute to root cause analysis efforts.
  • Escalate complex or high risk issues with clear context and recommended next steps.
  • Support process improvements by providing feedback on case trends, gaps, or inefficiencies.

About You:

  • 1–3 years of experience in sales compensation, operations, finance operations, or case management.
  • Experience working with Salesforce case management and/or Varicent (or similar ICM systems such as Callidus or Xactly).
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify patterns and trends across multiple cases, not just resolve individual issues.
  • Comfortable working with data and navigating complex systems.
  • Clear written communication skills, especially for documenting findings and resolutions.
  • Ability to manage volume, meet deadlines, and maintain quality during peak periods.
