Senior IT Project Lead - VMO Operations

A Day in the Life

As a Senior Project Lead in our Vendor Management Office, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring smooth and effective IT operations. You’ll manage Contract Administration & Management (CAM) requests, oversee Purchase Order (PO) creation and maintenance, resolve invoice issues, and support Software Asset Management activities. Working cross-functionally, you’ll help drive operational excellence in the delivery of technology solutions that benefit Medtronic’s 80 million healthcare customers worldwide.


Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Manage and process CAM system requests (for technology goods and services), ensuring timely and accurate completion.

  • Generate, review, and maintain purchase orders in accordance with company policies and procedures.

  • Support Software Asset Management, including reporting, chargebacks, governance and audit activities.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.

  • Adhere to standard governance frameworks and operational processes in all procurement activities.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of POs, CAM requests, and invoice resolutions.

  • Identify and support process improvement initiatives related to procurement and invoice management.

  • Provide responsive and professional customer service to internal and external partners regarding procurement and invoicing matters.

  • Analyze procurement and operational data to provide actionable insights and prepare regular reports for management and stakeholders.


Required Knowledge and Experience: 

  • 7+ years of IT experience with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, MCA, or MSc.

  • 7+ years of experience in procurement operations, accounts payable, technology process governance, or a related field.

  • Experience with purchase order systems and invoice management processes.

  • Advanced proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.

  • Experience with Ariba and Service Now Platforms.

  • Practical knowledge of project management.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.

  • Commitment to follow established processes and governance standards.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and requests simultaneously.
