Job Description

The Senior Mechanical Engineer position will be a part of the Healthcare Reprocessing Department.  The nature of the position will be a part of the product development and sustainment of various sterilization modalities and medical equipment technologies.  The product development process is carried out as a part of a cross-functional team with collaboration from engineering disciplines during the development lifecycle phases from concept through final release. Product development will involve 3D modeling with 2D drawing output and Design Controls documentation, while providing timely and accurate solutions for our customers.

Essential Job Functions

• Utilize Creo and Product Life Management (PLM) to support design activities and collaborate with R&D Engineering from multiple sites
• Assist with reviews and evaluation of complex designs for function and manufacturability
• Lead drawing packages activities
• Generate reporting tools on designs for active projects
• Follow standardization based on industry Standards (ISO, ANSI, ASME, etc.)
• Initiate complex ECNs and develop implementation plans
• Assure project Design traceability
• Ensure proper associations and design control in the PLM system
• Prepares design sketches and develop layouts and drawings for a variety of components, sub-assemblies, processes, or equipment
• Effectively utilizes design tools (e.g. CREO, AutoCAD, Adobe, SVN)
• Provides accurate effort estimates and deliver to commitments, with high quality and on-time delivery
• Performs drawing peer reviews before project engineering reviews
• Works as a collaborative team member

 Experience & Skills

• Minimum of 5 years, 7 years preferred, of experience in product development
• Experience in 3D CAD Modeling, Creo preferred 
• Understands manufacturing fabrication processes (e.g. Sheet Metal, Piping, Machining, casting, molding, welding), GD&T preferred
• Experienced in piping, sheet metal, casting, welding, and plastic designs
• Effective verbal and written communication are required to facilitate collaboration and create documentation.  
• In addition to personal interaction, communication tools and methods include, but are not limited to: emails, MS Products (e.g., MS Word, Excel, Project, Visio), stand-up meetings, and presentations.

• Exceptional team player 

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering required, MS in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Ability to work in a matrix team environment with both internal and 3rd party development teams (onshore / offshore).
• Hybrid work model: Working from the office on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
• Work Location: Pune
• Working Time: 2 PM IST to 11 PM IST
