Retail Store Manager

Position: Store Manager (Female) — Sam & Viv Kids Wear Location: Kesar Bagh Road, Indore, Madhya Pradesh

Reporting To: Nitish Khadayate and Mayuri Khadayate (Owners)

Working Days: 6 days per week (Monday fixed weekly off · 1 Sunday off per month on rotation)

Working Hours: 10:30 AM to 8:30 PM

Start Date: July 25, 2026 (paid training of 1-2 weeks before store launch on August 8, 2026)

Sam & Viv Kids is a premium curated kids boutique opening on Kesar Bagh Road, Indore (near Chameli Devi school). We specialise in ethnic wear, party wear, daily wear, and occasion gifting for children aged 0-5 years. Our store is built around creating a warm, memorable experience for Indore parents — from curated ceremony gift sets for occasions like Namkaran and Annaprashan etc. to high quality, party and festive wear. We believe every child's special occasion deserves something thoughtful, beautifully presented, and unique. Hence, we take pride in providing excellent customer service and experiences for our customers.

About the Role

You will be the face of Sam & Viv Kids. When Indore mothers walk into our store, you are the first person they meet — the one who listens to their occasion, recommends the right product, creates a great experience, and sends them home with something they love. You will run the store independently and with full ownership.

This is not a routine billing and stocking role. It is a selling, presenting, and customer experience role. If you enjoy working with mothers and young children, love the world of kids fashion, and take pride in making every customer feel special — this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Experience and Sales

• Welcome every customer warmly, understand their occasion or requirement, and guide them confidently through the store
• Suggest daily wear, party / occasion wear, ethnic wear to customers based on their needs
• Provide recommendations on fittings, be more consultative and provide excellent purchase experience to customers
• Explain our ceremony collections — Namkaran, Annaprashan, Mundan, First Birthday, Janmashtami — and recommend appropriate gift sets and occasion wear
• Upsell premium variants, gift hampers, and add-ons to gifters and parents naturally and without pressure
• Build genuine relationships with customers so they return for every new milestone and festival
• Capture every customer's details at time of purchase: baby's name, baby's date of birth or age, and customer's contact number — this is a critical daily discipline for our customer follow-up programme
• Achieve monthly sales targets and earn performance incentives for exceeding them

Store Operations and Billing

• Operate Shopify POS system on iPad and laptop — cash, UPI, and card billing
• Work comfortably on a laptop and computer for billing, daily reporting, and basic data entry
• Ensure all transactions are recorded accurately with zero discrepancy at day close
• Prepare end-of-day sales summary and share with the owner each evening
• Flag any billing discrepancies or customer issues to the owner immediately

Inventory and Stock Management

• Maintain organised and visually attractive shelving across all store zones — daily wear, ethnic, accessories, gifting, and newborn
• Monitor stock levels by size and design daily — if a size within a design sells out, flag immediately, not at month-end
• Prepare a weekly replenishment report noting what needs to be restocked

Product Presentation and Packaging

• Maintain store display and zone arrangement — refresh every 2-3 weeks and before every festival cycle
• Pre-assemble ceremony gift sets in advance — tissue layering, sticker sealing, and insert card placement — maintaining consistent quality
• Handle premium gift box assembly and presentation for customers choosing premium sets
• Seal and present the final packed bag or box in front of the customer as the last step of every sale

Customer Communication

• Respond to basic WhatsApp and Instagram product enquiries from customers during store hours — AI tools and owner support will be available, and same-day EOD response is the standard
• Send digital bills to customers via WhatsApp or email after each sale

What We Are Looking For

Experience

3 to 5 years of retail experience, with strong preference for candidates who have worked at any of the following:

Kids and baby stores: FirstCry, Mothercare, Gini & Jony, Lilliput, Miniklub, Cherry Crumble, Westside Kids, Mumkins (Indore), Rooprang (Indore), or any premium kids boutique

Multi-brand retail with kids section: Pantaloons, Max Fashion, Lifestyle, H&M, Reliance Trends, Shoppers Stop

Premium fashion retail: Vero Moda, Allen Solly, W for Woman, FabIndia, Biba, Meena Bazaar

Candidates with direct kids clothing 0-5 years experience will be strongly preferred over general fashion retail backgrounds.

Skills

• Experience in Kids Retail Apparel Sales - new born to 5 years, able to talk to customers (mothers and grandmothers mainly) and sell apparels based on their occasions and needs
• Fluent Hindi speaker — warm, clear, and confident with customers
• Basic English reading capability for operating software and understanding product labels
• Comfortable operating a laptop and computer — typing, navigating apps, and managing basic data entry
• Experience with digital billing systems — any POS software background is an advantage
• Eye for aesthetics — able to arrange products attractively and maintain a premium store environment
• Comfortable using a smartphone for WhatsApp and basic app usage
