Production Manager

Job Title: Production Manager – LDPE Blown Film / Poly Film / Flexible Packaging

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee manufacturing operations for LDPE blown film, poly film, and flexible packaging products. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing production activities to ensure high-quality output, maximum efficiency, and adherence to safety and quality standards. The role requires strong technical expertise in blown film extrusion and flexible packaging manufacturing, along with proven leadership and problem-solving abilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and supervise daily production activities for LDPE blown film, poly film, and flexible packaging operations.
• Ensure production targets are achieved while maintaining product quality, minimizing waste, and controlling manufacturing costs.
• Monitor and optimize blown film extrusion processes to improve productivity and product consistency.
• Manage machine utilization, production scheduling, and manpower allocation for maximum operational efficiency.
• Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure products meet customer specifications and industry standards.
• Troubleshoot production issues related to blown film extrusion, printing, lamination, slitting, and bag-making processes.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules with the maintenance team to minimize equipment downtime.
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety, environmental regulations, and company policies.
• Monitor raw material consumption, production yields, scrap levels, and inventory utilization.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Lead, train, motivate, and evaluate production supervisors, operators, and production staff.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, efficiency, and cost reduction.
• Collaborate with quality assurance, engineering, planning, procurement, and sales teams to meet customer delivery commitments.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in LDPE blown film, poly film, or flexible packaging manufacturing.
• Proven experience in a Production Manager or Production Supervisor role within the plastics or flexible packaging industry.
• Strong technical knowledge of blown film extrusion processes and flexible packaging production.

Required Skills

• Expertise in LDPE, LLDPE, HDPE, and poly film extrusion.
• Strong knowledge of flexible packaging manufacturing processes.
• Experience with blown film extrusion machines and production optimization.
• Knowledge of printing, lamination, slitting, rewinding, and bag-making processes.
• Production planning and scheduling.
• Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement practices.
• Root cause analysis and problem-solving.
• Quality management and process control.
• Team leadership and workforce management.
• Inventory and material management.
• ERP/MRP system knowledge.
• Strong communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and production reporting.
