Welding Engineer
ob Description / Profile
- Design and develop welding procedures for new products and materials.
- Select appropriate welding techniques, equipment, and consumables.
- Optimize welding parameters to enhance productivity and minimize defects.
- Conduct weld inspections and ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., AWS, ASME, ISO).
- Investigate welding-related quality issues and implement effective corrective actions.
- Support non-destructive testing (NDT) and metallurgical evaluations.
- Ensure adherence to applicable codes, standards, and customer specifications.
- Lead and supervise the welding team, including working in shifts when required.
- Train, qualify, and continuously develop welders and operators.
- Provide technical support to production teams and troubleshoot welding-related issues.
- Drive initiatives to improve welding efficiency, reduce costs, and strengthen safety practices.
- Stay abreast of advancements in welding technology and recommend relevant upgrades.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 7–10 years of relevant experience.
- Certified Welding Engineer (AWS CWE or IWE) with strong proficiency in welding processes.
- NDT Level II certifications in RT, PT, and UT methods.
