Production Manager (Aluminium Extrusions)

Production Planning & Execution

▪   Plan and manage day-to-day extrusion press operations and finishing line schedules in line with the production plan

▪   Allocate operators, billets, and dies to presses based on daily order requirements and run-rate targets

▪   Monitor and ensure shift output is achieved as per plan (tonnes/shift); take corrective action on deviations immediately

▪   Coordinate with the Die Shop for timely die availability and with Supply Chain for billet and raw material readiness

Quality & Process Adherence

▪   Ensure all production activities are conducted as per approved process parameters, SOPs, and control plans

▪   Work closely with the QC Inspector / Process Engineer to minimise in-process rejection and rework percentage

▪   Initiate root cause analysis for recurring process defects; implement and track corrective actions

▪   Conduct first-article and in-process checks; escalate non-conformances to Head – Quality as required

Maintenance Coordination

▪   Liaise with Maintenance team for breakdown resolution and planned preventive maintenance windows

▪   Monitor machine uptime and OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) of extrusion presses; escalate chronic breakdowns

▪   Ensure pre-shift tooling checks, billet furnace readiness, and press parameter validation are completed

Team Management

▪   Manage shift roster, daily attendance, and deployment of operators and helpers across all shifts

▪   Conduct daily briefings at shift start covering safety, targets, quality alerts, and housekeeping priorities

▪   Carry out periodic performance reviews for supervisors and operators; identify training needs

▪   Address shop-floor IR issues promptly; escalate to HR for formal matters

Safety & 5S

▪   Enforce PPE compliance, machine guarding standards, and permit-to-work systems in the production area

▪   Drive 5S implementation and daily housekeeping discipline across the extrusion and finishing bay

▪   Ensure zero unsafe acts; report and investigate near-miss incidents

MIS & Reporting

▪   Prepare and submit daily production MIS to Head – Production: actual vs. plan, downtime log, rejection summary

▪   Maintain shift logbook with complete handover notes for incoming shift supervisor

▪   Contribute to monthly operations review data collation and presentation
