Subtitle / Caption Editor

Role Overview:

We’re looking for a Subtitle / Caption Editor who can handle complex, real-world audio and bring clarity to challenging material. You’ll be responsible for creating accurate, well-timed captions, color-coding multiple speakers, and ensuring viewers can follow along—even when the audio is unclear.

Key Responsibilities:

·      Transcribe and edit captions from raw, sometimes unclear audio with high accuracy

·      Sync subtitles precisely to dialogue, narration, and important sound cues

·      Apply multi-speaker color coding to clearly differentiate voices throughout the video

·      Format captions for readability (line breaks, timing adjustments)

Requirements:

·      Exceptional listening skills with ability to interpret unclear or accented English audio

·      Strong command of written English (grammar, punctuation, spelling)

·      Proven experience in captioning multi-speaker content

·      Eye for detail and strong sense of pacing in subtitles

Nice to Have:

·      Proficiency with captioning tools (Subtitle Edit, Aegisub, VEED, or similar)

·      Experience with true crime, documentary, or investigative content

·      Familiarity with YouTube captioning style
