Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and disciplined Accountant responsible for collecting, organizing, and accurately recording financial data for hotel operations. The role focuses on ensuring timely data capture from various departments and maintaining accurate books of accounts in the accounting system.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Data Collection & CoordinationCollect daily financial data from all hotel departments (Front Office, F&B, Housekeeping, Stores, etc.)

  • Coordinate with operational staff to ensure completeness and accuracy of data
  • Gather supporting documents such as bills, invoices, payment receipts, and vouchers
  • Follow up regularly for pending data and resolve discrepancies

2. Accounting Entries & BookkeepingPass daily accounting entries in the accounting system (e.g., Tally or similar software)

  • Record:
  • Room revenue (cash/online/OTA bookings)
  • Restaurant/F&B sales
  • Vendor invoices and expenses
  • Petty cash expenses
  • Bank transactions
  • Maintain proper ledger classification and accounting accuracy

3. Revenue & Expense TrackingReconcile daily collections with system reports (PMS/POS)

  • Track cash, card, UPI, and online receipts
  • Record and monitor all operational expenses

4. Documentation & Record MaintenanceMaintain proper filing (physical/digital) of all financial documents

  • Ensure audit-ready documentation at all times
  • Organize vouchers and supporting records systematically

5. ReconciliationPerform daily and monthly reconciliations:

  • Cash and bank reconciliation
  • OTA (Online Travel Agent) reconciliations
  • Vendor balances
  • Identify and report discrepancies

6. Compliance SupportAssist in GST, TDS, and other compliance data preparation

  • Provide required data for audits and return filings
  • Ensure entries are in line with statutory requirements
  • Skills & Requirements:Basic to intermediate knowledge of accounting principles
  • Hands-on experience in Tally or similar accounting software
  • Proficiency in MS Excel / Google Sheets
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good coordination and follow-up skills
  • Ability to handle routine, process-driven work efficiently
  • Preferred Qualifications:B.Com / M.Com or relevant accounting qualification
  • Prior experience in hotel or hospitality accounting (preferred but not mandatory)
