Job Description
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating project activities, monitoring project progress, reviewing engineering drawings, supporting procurement, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards. The role requires strong technical knowledge, organizational skills, and effective communication with clients and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Cross-Functional Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact between clients, internal design, procurement, and project execution teams to prevent workflow bottlenecks.
- Project Tracking: Develop and monitor project schedules, budgets, and milestones, preparing regular progress reports for management.
- Drawing & Design Review: Read, interpret, and review mechanical blueprints, CAD designs, and shop drawings to ensure alignment with spatial and structural requirements.
- Quality & Safety Compliance: Ensure all mechanical components, equipment, and installations meet industry regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, local safety codes) and undergo necessary QA/QC testing.
- Resource & Procurement Support: Track inventory, manage Bill of Materials (BOQ), and source parts from external vendors to support project needs.
- Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Provide on-site technical assistance, identify delays, and quickly implement corrective solutions to minimize downtime.
Qualification
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2–5 years of experience in project coordination, mechanical engineering, or project execution (preferred).
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordination.
- Hands-on experience with AutoCAD; knowledge of SolidWorks is an added advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOQs, and technical documents.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of steel fabrication, structural projects, or industrial engineering.
- Familiarity with QA/QC processes and safety regulations.
- Experience working with ERP systems and project documentation.
- Willingness to travel to project sites, if required.
