Job Description & summary:

We are looking for a Senior Java Spring Boot Developer with strong hands-on experience in building scalable, cloud-native applications and working knowledge of Camunda 8 and Elasticsearch. You will design, develop, and optimize backend services and workflow automations that power our core business processes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java (11+/17+) and Spring Boot.
• Implement and optimize business workflows using Camunda 8 (Zeebe, Modeler, Operate, Tasklist).
• Integrate and manage Elasticsearch for search, logging, and analytics use cases.
• Design and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, and other developers to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards.
• Implement unit, integration, and performance tests; ensure high coverage and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews, technical design sessions, and architectural discussions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues; support performance tuning and optimization.
• Mentor junior developers and share knowledge on Java, Spring Boot, Camunda, and Elasticsearch.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5–8+ years of professional experience in backend development with Java.
• Strong experience with Spring Boot and the broader Spring ecosystem (Spring Data, Spring Security, Spring Cloud, etc.).
• Working knowledge of Camunda 8:
  • Modeling BPMN workflows
  • Defining and implementing workers / job handlers
  • Handling process variables, error handling, and retries
  • Basic understanding of Zeebe architecture and Operate
• Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch:
  • Index design and mapping
  • Querying and aggregations
  • Performance considerations (sharding, indexing strategies)
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Proficiency with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and JPA/Hibernate.
• Familiarity with message brokers/streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ) is a strong plus.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions), and containerization (Docker; Kubernetes is a plus).
• Solid understanding of software engineering best practices: design patterns, clean architecture, SOLID principles.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in an agile environment.
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure).
• Experience with Camunda 7 (for migration or compatibility) is a plus.
• Familiarity with OAuth2/OpenID Connect, security best practices, and API gateways.
