ROLE SUMMARY
The Consultant – Team Lead (TL) is a frontline leadership position responsible for sourcing, screening, and onboarding blue-collar candidates and delivery riders in the assigned location. The incumbent must have a strong local network, deep knowledge of their geography, and hands-on experience in field recruitment or workforce management. This role requires daily fieldwork and direct candidate engagement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruitment & Sourcing
• Identify, attract, and onboard blue-collar workers and delivery riders as per targets set by the management.
• Leverage personal network, local contacts, social media groups, and community channels to source candidates.
• Conduct walk-in drives, street-level outreach, and referral campaigns within the designated location.
• Maintain a consistent pipeline of active candidates for immediate and future deployment.
Candidate Management
• Screen candidates for basic eligibility, documentation, and fitness for the assigned role.
• Guide candidates through the onboarding process including document verification and background checks.
• Ensure candidates are briefed on job expectations, shift timings, pay structure, and company policies.
• Handle candidate queries, grievances, and retention-related issues at the ground level.
Operations & Coordination
• Coordinate with the operations and HR teams to ensure smooth deployment of hired candidates.
• Track daily joining numbers and report progress against targets to the reporting manager.
• Maintain accurate records of sourced, screened, and deployed candidates using trackers/MIS tools.
• Ensure compliance with all company norms, data privacy policies, and client-specific requirements.
Location & Market Intelligence
• Maintain thorough knowledge of hyperlocal geographies, pin codes, colonies, and transit zones within the assigned area.
• Map local labour supply hotspots, training centres, auto stands, and other candidate aggregation points.
• Provide regular market feedback on competitor activity, pay benchmarks, and candidate sentiment.
ELIGIBILITY & REQUIREMENTS
Educational Qualification
• Graduation from any recognised university / stream (B.A., B.Com., B.Sc., BBA, B.Tech, or equivalent).
Experience
• Minimum 1 year of experience in recruitment, field sales, workforce mobilisation, or a related role.
• Prior experience in blue-collar hiring, gig worker recruitment, or rider onboarding is highly preferred.
• Freshers with strong local networks and exceptional drive may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Skills & Competencies
• Excellent local area knowledge — thorough familiarity with streets, localities, and geography of the assigned location is MANDATORY.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills in the local language (Malayalam / Tamil as applicable).
• Self-motivated, target-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced field environment.
• Ability to build trust quickly with candidates from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.
• Basic computer literacy (WhatsApp, Excel, Google Sheets) for reporting purposes.
• Must own a smartphone with an active data connection for daily reporting and coordination.
Other Requirements
• Willingness to do extensive fieldwork — this is NOT a desk job.
• Should have a valid ID proof and be willing to undergo a background verification.
• Possession of a two-wheeler and a valid driving licence is an added advantage.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Salary is paid as Take-Home (in-hand) and varies by location. Candidates are encouraged to negotiate based on experience within the stated range.
