Academic Counsellor

The Academic Counselor is responsible for supporting students in achieving their academic goals. This includes providing guidance on course selection, helping students understand academic requirements, and offering support with personal and educational challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist students in planning their academic paths, selecting courses, and understanding curriculum requirements.
• Offer guidance on setting and achieving academic goals.
• Provide information about available resources like tutoring, study groups, and counseling services.
• Help students manage personal issues that may impact their academic performance.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to monitor student progress and address academic concerns.
• Maintain accurate records of counseling sessions and student progress.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build rapport with students and provide empathetic support.
• Knowledge of academic programs and resources available to students.

Skills:

• Excellent listening and problem-solving skills.
• Organizational and time management abilities.
• Familiarity with educational software and student management systems is a plus.

Work Environment:
