Accountant

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are a growing interior design and turnkey contracting firm handling residential luxury, industrial, and marine furniture projects. This role is the financial backbone of our operations — managing multi-project accounts, vendor payments, client billing, and cost tracking across sites. You will work closely with the business owner and operations team to keep finances clean, timely, and transparent.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage day-to-day accounting across multiple live projects simultaneously

Handle vendor invoices, purchase orders, and payment cycles for interior and contracting work

Prepare and track client billing milestones (advance, progress, final) as per contract schedules

Maintain site-wise expense tracking and compare actuals vs budgets (BoQ-based costing)

Process payroll for office staff, site supervisors, and contract labourers

Prepare GST returns, TDS filings, and liaise with our CA for audits and compliance

Maintain a clean Purchase FMS (Financial Management System) — updating records in real time

Generate MIS reports: site P&L, cash flow statements, payment status dashboards

Flag cost overruns or payment delays early to the operations team

Handle marine furniture project billing — coordinate with shipyard billing norms as required

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in construction, contracting, or interiors

Hands-on with Tally Prime; proficient in Excel or Google Sheets

Strong understanding of GST, TDS, ESI and basic project costing principles

Ability to manage multiple project accounts without losing accuracy

Organised, detail-oriented, and proactive in flagging issues

Comfortable working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment

B.Com / M.Com or equivalent; CA Inter preferred but not mandatory

NICE TO HAVE:

Prior exposure to billing in construction or interior contracting firms

Familiarity with BoQ / BoM-based project cost structures

Experience with marine or shipyard project billing (advantage for our growing vertical)

Ability to build or maintain basic dashboards in Google Sheets or Excel
