Job Description
- Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement & Vendor ManagementHandle complete purchase activities for elevators and related electrical/mechanical materials.
- Source new vendors and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers.
- Compare quotations and finalize vendors based on pricing, quality, delivery timelines, and reliability.
- Conduct negotiations for best commercial terms, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
- Develop alternate vendors to avoid dependency and delays.
- Material Planning & CoordinationCoordinate with installation, service, maintenance, stores, and production departments for material requirements.
- Ensure timely availability of materials for projects and breakdown requirements.
- Follow up with vendors for dispatch, delivery schedules, and pending orders.
- Monitor urgent and critical purchase requirements to avoid project delays.
- Purchase Documentation & ProcessPrepare and process Purchase Orders (POs).
- Maintain quotation records, vendor comparisons, and purchase documentation properly.
- Verify invoices, delivery challans, and purchase-related documents.
- Coordinate with the accounts department for payment processing and vendor reconciliations.
- Cost Control & Inventory SupportWork towards reducing procurement costs without compromising quality.
- Coordinate with stores for stock availability and inventory planning.
- Prevent excess purchasing and unnecessary stock accumulation.
- Support management with cost-saving initiatives and procurement reports.
Technical Purchase KnowledgeCandidate should have exposure to procurement of:
- Elevator Controllers
- VVVF Drives
- Motors & Machines
- COP/LOP Panels
- Door Operators
- Guide Rails & Shoes
- Ropes & Safety Components
- Electrical & Electronic Components
- Fabrication & Hardware Materials
- Site Installation Materials
- Required SkillsStrong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Good understanding of technical procurement and commercial purchasing.
- Strong follow-up and coordination abilities.
- Knowledge of ERP systems, Excel, and purchase documentation.
- Ability to handle urgent and project-based procurement requirements.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Understanding of inventory and material management systems.
Preferred Industry BackgroundCandidates from following industries will be preferred:
- Elevator / Lift Industry
- MEP Companies
- Electrical Contracting
- Industrial Automation
- Electrical Panel Manufacturing
- HVAC Industry
- Engineering & Manufacturing Companies
Experience
- 4 to 8 years of experience in Purchase / Procurement.
- Experience in technical or project-based procurement will be preferred.
Qualification
- Graduate / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or related field.
- Additional certification in Supply Chain or Procurement Management will be an added advantage.
