Project Manager

Position: Project Manager – Civil & MEP Projects (Automated Testing Stations)

Department: Projects & Operations

Location: Multiple Project Sites across India (Travel Required)

Reporting To: Director – Projects / Management

About the Role

VKARE Retail Ventures Private Limited is looking for a dynamic and result-oriented Project Manager to lead the end-to-end execution of Automated Testing Station (ATS) projects across multiple locations. The role involves planning, coordinating, monitoring, and delivering projects within the defined timeline, quality standards, and budget while ensuring compliance with statutory and technical requirements.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in managing civil construction, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) works, contractor coordination, and project execution.

Key Responsibilities

1.     Project Planning & Execution

2.     Plan, organize, and execute multiple ATS projects simultaneously.

3.     Develop project schedules, milestones, and execution plans.

4.     Ensure timely completion of all project activities as per approved timelines.

5.     Monitor project progress and prepare regular status reports for management.

6.     Civil Works Coordination

7.     Coordinate with architects, structural consultants, and design teams for drawings and site execution.

8.     Supervise civil contractors to ensure work is executed according to approved drawings and quality standards.

9.     Monitor excavation, foundations, RCC works, flooring, drainage, and finishing works.

10. Verify measurements and certify contractor work completion.

11. Mechanical & Electrical Coordination

12. Coordinate installation of ATS machinery and equipment.

13. Supervise electrical contractors for power supply, panels, earthing, lighting, cabling, DG backup, and related infrastructure.

14. Coordinate with mechanical contractors for machinery installation, alignment, compressed air systems, hydraulic systems, ventilation, and other mechanical requirements.

15. Ensure all utilities are available before machinery installation.

Vendor & Contractor Management

1.     Appoint, coordinate, and monitor civil, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fabrication, and mechanical contractors.

2.     Conduct regular site meetings with contractors and consultants.

3.     Review contractor progress and ensure adherence to quality, safety, and timelines.

4.     Resolve execution challenges and coordinate corrective actions.

Design & Technical Coordination

1.     Coordinate with architects, designers, consultants, and OEMs for technical approvals.

2.     Review drawings and identify design conflicts before execution.

3.     Ensure all construction follows approved drawings and specifications.

4.     Manage revisions and ensure implementation at site.

Quality & Safety

1.     Ensure compliance with project quality standards.

2.     Conduct regular quality inspections.

3.     Ensure contractors follow all safety regulations and site safety practices.

4.     Report quality and safety observations to management.

Budget & Cost Control

1.     Monitor project budgets and expenditure.

2.     Verify contractor bills and work completion.

3.     Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

4.     Maintain records of project costs and variations.

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain project documentation including:

1.     Daily Progress Reports (DPR)

2.     Weekly Progress Reports

3.     Material Tracking

4.     Site Photographs

5.     Contractor Progress Reports

6.     Measurement Records

7.     Completion Reports

8.     Submit MIS reports to management on project status.

Government & Regulatory Coordination

1.     Coordinate with government departments, local authorities, utility agencies, and statutory bodies whenever required.

2.     Support documentation required for approvals, inspections, and commissioning.

Travel Requirements

1.     Frequently travel across project locations.

2.     Conduct regular site inspections and progress reviews.

3.     Ensure consistent execution standards across all ATS sites.

Required Qualifications

1.     Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering (preferred).

2.     Additional qualification in Project Management will be an advantage.

3.     Certification in PMP/PRINCE2 or equivalent is desirable.

Experience

1.     5–10 years of experience in project management.

2.     Experience in industrial, infrastructure, automotive, commercial, or engineering projects.

3.     Hands-on experience managing civil, electrical, and mechanical works.

4.     Experience coordinating multiple contractors and consultants simultaneously.

5.     Experience handling multi-location projects will be preferred.
