Job Description
We seek a hunter-style BDE with a proven ability to identify, access, and convert high-value prospects in the environmental tech domain. You will focus on:
- Prospecting & Relationship Building: Uncover hidden opportunities by leveraging networks, competitor insights, and "inside access" to decision-makers.
- Requirement Generation: Turn dormant leads into active projects using consultative selling aligned with our product portfolio (e.g., CAAQMS, STP automation, OCEMS).
- Strategic Closure: Partner with technical teams to close deals for real-time monitoring systems, pollution control projects, and O&M contracts.
Key Responsibilities
- Market Intelligence & Access
- Identify and map decision-makers (e.g., plant managers, sustainability heads, municipal officers) using tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo.io, and OSINT techniques.
- Build relationships with "gatekeepers" (consultants, contractors, industry associations) to gain insider access to RFPs and upcoming projects.
- Track competitor activity and collaborate on non-competing product opportunities.
- Lead Generation & Pipeline Development
- Generate 15-20 qualified leads/month for high-ticket products (e.g., ₹30L+ air monitoring systems, ₹50L+ STP automation projects).
- Use SPIN Selling to uncover pain points (e.g., compliance fines, inefficiencies in existing ETP/WTP systems).
- Deal Execution
- Collaborate with technical teams to design proposals tailored to client needs (e.g., IoT-enabled lake monitoring, USEPA-certified OCEMS).
- Negotiate contracts and close deals with a 30-45 day sales cycle for smaller projects (₹5-10L) and 90-120 days for large tenders.
- Account Mining
- Drive repeat business via O&M contracts for installed systems (e.g., sensor recalibration, SCADA upgrades).
What We Look For
- Experience:
- 3-5 years in B2B sales, preferably in environmental tech, industrial automation, or infrastructure.
- Proven track record of closing deals ₹50L+ annually in complex sales cycles.
- Skills:
- Networker: Existing contacts in target industries (e.g., PMCs, EPC firms, municipal bodies).
- Resourceful: Ability to bypass gatekeepers using tools like email scraping, warm referrals, or event networking.
- Technical Aptitude: Ability to grasp product differentiators (e.g., beta-ray attenuation vs. low-cost sensors).
- Mindset:
- Hunter Mentality: Thrives on prospecting, not just account management.
- Strategic Thinker: Identifies whitespace opportunities (e.g., carbon capture, BMC sensor projects).
